Czech Town Prepares for World’s Largest Poker Tournament

According to a report in local media, the Rozvadov King’s Casino in west Bohemia will host the largest poker tournament outside Las Vegas this autumn. The games will be part of the World Series of Poker.

The event is set to take place between October 19 and November 10, and the organizers look forward to attendance by over 20,000 players. The tournament will feature the lucrative prize pool of 600 million crowns.

Celebrity guests to the event such as American poker pro Phil Ivey and former tennis player Boris Becker are expected to be there.

According to Leon Tsoukernik, owner of the Rozvadov casino, participants are going to compete for 300 million crowns in the main tournament, and the champion will be entitled to a further 100 million.

Tsoukernik secured the license for the tournament by paying millions of crowns. A Berlin casino was the other major contender for the privilege.

A five-star hotel along with an extension to the main casino building are currently under construction to meet the demands of the upcoming event.
