On the third and meant-to-be final day of the $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em, 31 out of 1,125 players returned, planning to play down to a winner. However, an extra day had to be added to conclude the heads-up match between Andrew Lichtenberger and Craigh Blight with Lichtenberger having a 3:1 chiplead. He never gave this away and collected his first bracelet.
Some of the more noteable names who returned on day 3 were John Racener (28th, $13,612), Simon Deadman (26th, $16,536), last year’s November Niner Pierre Neuville (19th, $16,536) and 2013 WSOP Main Event runner-up Jay Farber (15th, $25,485).
