A groundbreaking agreement, spanning from 2024 to 2033, has been reached in Taiwan as Sportradar, in collaboration with a consortium, takes the helm of an ambitious project. The consortium, which includes ADATA Technology as the license holder, Taiwan Sports Lottery Company as the operator, and China Trust Bank, secured Taiwan’s third Sports Lottery License from the government’s Sports Administration in December 2022.
The cornerstone of this agreement is the implementation of Sportradar’s cutting-edge Orako end-to-end sportsbook and player account management solution. This innovative solution will be introduced across a vast network of over 2,600 retail outlets in Taiwan. Notably, Orako will extend its capabilities to online and mobile platforms, embracing an omnichannel approach that caters to diverse customer preferences.
Orako is more than a software solution; it is a comprehensive package that encompasses managed trading services, pre-match and live data and odds, audio-visual streaming, and a suite of marketing services. This multifaceted approach aims to elevate the sports betting experience for players, whether they engage through physical retail outlets, web platforms, or mobile devices.
The wider agreement between Sportradar and the consortium also encompasses the deployment of essential equipment in all retail stores. This includes the provision of tailored lottery terminals and printers, complemented by digital multimedia displays that offer live sports updates and betting information in real time.
To ensure seamless operational support, Sportradar has established a dedicated local team in Taipei. This local presence will play a pivotal role in facilitating the successful execution of the consortium’s ambitious vision.
Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar, expressed his confidence in the consortium’s ability to redefine the sports betting landscape in Taiwan. He stated, “Our experience working with government-run lotteries around the world, coupled with our innovative technology and end-to-end Orako solution, means Sportradar is well-placed to operate as part of a successful consortium for the Taiwan Sports Lottery.”
Taiwan Sports Lottery Company President Ted Lin shared the consortium’s vision, emphasizing their aspiration to transform the sports betting experience. He highlighted Sportradar’s impressive track record in collaborating with established lottery providers globally and the potential synergies with Sportradar to drive innovation in Taiwan’s sports betting sector. The stage is set for a new era of sports betting in Taiwan, characterized by innovation, technology, and an exceptional customer experience.
