Polymarket has started giving U.S. iOS users access to its prediction market exchange after a waitlist period that lasted more than six months.
Good to Know
The access code screen has gone. Users who open the Polymarket iOS app in the U.S. now land on a trading home page, where sports markets appear with live prices. Signups no longer require an invitation code, according to InGame.
The rollout gives Polymarket a long-awaited U.S. return after its QCEX deal. Polymarket bought the Commodity Futures Trading Commission licensed exchange last July, using that structure to support a regulated U.S. exchange after earlier issues with federal regulators.
Polymarket first launched in 2020, but its U.S. access changed after a 2022 settlement with the CFTC. The company paid a $1.4 million fine after the regulator found that Polymarket had offered unregistered derivatives.
The wait for U.S. access ran longer than expected. Polymarket had planned to go live last July, and CEO Shayne Coplan later said the platform had a “green light” for September 2025, in time for the NFL season.
Instead, users sat behind a waitlist while the app showed an invitation code request. Now, Polymarket has begun opening the iOS platform to those users.
The company website reads:
“Polymarket’s U.S. app is now being rolled out to those on the waitlist. Provide your phone number below to secure your spot & be notified when it’s your turn.”
The U.S. app currently shows sports prediction markets, giving users a way to trade event contracts through the QCEX exchange setup.
