Flashscore has been rated the fastest sports results platform by UK fans, according to new research on live sport habits before the 2026 World Cup.
Good to Know
For fans checking live scores, speed has become a basic need. A delay of even a few seconds can change how people follow football, tennis, basketball, cricket, and other sports on match days.
In the UK survey, 46% of 2,000 sports fans picked Flashscore as the quickest sports app or results platform. Research in other major football markets gave a similar result. In Italy, 49% of 2,000 respondents chose Flashscore, known locally as Diretta. In Brazil, 53% of 3,300 fans gave the same answer.
Flashscore also scored well for reliability. Italian users rated Diretta as more accurate than competitors and platforms from national broadcasters. In the UK and Brazil, fans viewed Flashscore as equal to or close to competitors and broadcaster platforms for accuracy.
Tomáš Kavka, Director of Engineering at Flashscore, said:
“It is not one magic technology that solves everything, it is a lot of small and larger right decisions over time.
“Serving a user in South America from Europe is technically possible, but speed is in our DNA. If we want to be the fastest on every continent, we need to be as close as possible to the user. And the data needs to reach that location the moment it appears in our database.”
Flashscore enters its 20th year since launch with a large global base. The platform attracts more than 125 million monthly users, has passed 400 million app downloads across its portfolio, and produces around 145 billion monthly impressions.
The UK has become a large market as well. Flashscore has more than four million app downloads there, generates over two billion monthly impressions, and users spend close to 30 minutes per day on average inside the app.
