  • July sports betting handle reached $509.5 million, compared with $412.5 million in July 2025.
  • Taxable sports wagering revenue rose 27.8% to $51.8 million.
  • Pennsylvania iGaming revenue reached $249 million, up 9.1% year over year.

World Cup Month Lifts Sportsbook Results

July gave Pennsylvania sportsbooks a much stronger result than June. Betting volume climbed above $500 million while operators benefited from a favorable run of results during the final stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported taxable sports wagering revenue of $51.8 million, against $40.6 million one year earlier. Sports betting generated $18.7 million in state tax during the month.

The wider comparison also shows how quickly conditions changed. Pennsylvania sportsbooks generated only $31 million in taxable revenue during June, when bettors performed better across the World Cup group stage and other major sports.

FanDuel led the online market by handle with roughly $165.7 million and generated about $25.4 million in gross revenue. DraftKings followed with $163.8 million in wagers and $19.3 million in revenue. Fanatics, BetMGM and bet365 completed the top five.

FanDuel produced the strongest margin among the market leaders at about 15.3%, while DraftKings kept roughly 11.8% of wagers.

Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Reaches $591 Million

Sports betting represented only one part of a strong month for Pennsylvania gambling. Total gaming revenue reached $591.1 million, up 5.99% from July 2025, while the state generated $256.8 million in gaming taxes.

Online casino gaming remained the larger digital business. Pennsylvania iGaming revenue increased 9.1% to $249 million, led by $199.2 million from online slots. Retail slots rose 2.5% to $213.7 million, while retail table game revenue fell 5.1% to $72.4 million.

The July figures follow a record fiscal year for the state. Pennsylvania regulated gaming generated just over $7 billion in revenue during fiscal year 2025 to 2026, extending its position as one of the largest gambling markets in the US.
