Nick Guagenti Wins WSOP Event #9: $1,500 Limit Hold’em, Takes Home $121,074

Nick Guagenti secured another World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet by winning the $1,500 limit hold’em event and earning $121,074. This victory adds to his previous win in the 2020 WSOP Online, where he earned $305,433 in a $2,000 no-limit hold’em event. Guagenti, hailing from Westerville, Ohio, now has two WSOP bracelets and over $2.7 million in tournament earnings.

Event #9: $1,500 Limit Hold’em at the 2024 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas started with six players on the final day. By the end of the day, Guagenti stood alone, holding the gold bracelet. The event had a total prize pool of $591,405.

Guagenti entered the heads-up play with a 7:3 chip lead against Joseph Brodsky. The contest lasted several hours, with Brodsky putting up a strong fight despite his initial disadvantage. Throughout the game, the two players showed mutual respect, often engaging in friendly conversation.

In the final hand, Brodsky called all-in from the big blind with 8♠ 4♠, facing Guagenti’s Q♥ 8♦. The board revealed A♥ Q♠ 6♣ 7♦ J♥, sealing Guagenti’s victory. As the runner-up, Brodsky earned $80,717, boosting his career earnings to $121,158, well above his previous best earnings in a soingle tournament of $8,101.
