China Launches Crackdown on Illegal Gambling Operation, 93 Arrested and $125 Million Seized

Authorities effectively cracked down on an illegal gaming enterprise, demonstrating China’s steadfast stance against illegal gambling. Law enforcement undertook enforcement measures over the weekend, resulting in the arrest of 93 people and the seizure of approximately $125 million. The operation, which took place in Yunnan province’s Zhaotong, targeted an illicit iGaming platform that was operating in contravention of China’s rigorous gambling regulations.

China has imposed tight monitoring policies and deployed 101 monitoring stations across the country to further prevent the establishment of new illegal gaming rings.
