The Catawba Nation shared an update on its casino project, confirming that major progress has been made during the first year of construction. The introductory phase of the Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort is now on track to open in spring 2026.

Work is active across the entire site. After groundbreaking in June of last year, foundations for both the hotel and casino were quickly completed, and construction crews continue to add new floors to the hotel tower. The building has now reached full height, and the structure continues to grow as an additional floor is added nearly every week.
Catawba Nation Chief Brian Harris spoke about the broader impact of the project: “This casino resort will be an economic game changer for Catawba citizens and a force to drive the economy of Cleveland County and the City of Kings Mountain.”
The first phase of the casino resort will feature 1,350 slot machines and 20 table games, alocatangside a 40-seat restaurant, sports betting kiosks, a bar, and a Lucky North Rewards desk. Catawba Nation also plans to include three levels of covered parking, a back-of-house floor, and a top-level main casino floor with additional dining options.
The complete resort is expected to open in 2027 and will span nearly two million square feet. At full scale, it will include 4,300 slot machines, 100 table games, 11 restaurants, and a player’s lounge.
Chief Harris also acknowledged the partnerships that have supported the development so far. “Once again, I want to thank the Cleveland County, City of Kings Mountain, federal and state leaders who have supported the Catawba Nation’s efforts (to) develop the casino resort in its ancestral lands in North Carolina,” he said.
