Las Vegas Sands Corp. will see a major leadership change in 2026, as Chairman and CEO Robert Goldstein plans to step down on March 1. Goldstein, who has been with the company since 1995, will transition into a Senior Adviser role until March 2028. Patrick Dumont, currently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer, will take over as Chairman and CEO. Goldstein took the helm in 2021 following the passing of company founder Sheldon Adelson. In his new role as Senior Adviser, he will focus on government relations, gaming strategies, and expansion opportunities. A Securities and Exchange Commission filing confirmed he will receive an annual compensation of $4.5 million while serving in this advisory capacity. His leadership shaped Las Vegas Sands’ global presence. The company expanded in Macao and Singapore under his direction and played a key role in the development of The Venetian Las Vegas and Grand Canal Shoppes. He also helped bring the Sphere entertainment venue to Las Vegas. Additionally, Goldstein was involved in negotiations that led to the construction of Allegiant Stadium and the relocation of the Las Vegas Raiders. Looking back on his career, Goldstein said, “In the beginning, we were counted out more times than I can count. All these years later, it is clear the opening of The Venetian was a turning point in the history of the Las Vegas Strip.” Las Vegas Sands evolved from a gaming-focused company to an integrated resort model during Goldstein’s time at the helm. His influence reshaped tourism in Las Vegas, Macao, and Singapore while also driving strong financial growth. Among his key achievements was a $1.5 billion retail deal in 2004 that reshaped real estate investment in Las Vegas.
