In a statement to Yeremian, the casino claimed his unvaccinated status posed "significant risks to the health and safety of guests, coworkers, and himself." Interestingly, not all MGM employees were required to get vaccinated. Around 20% of the workforce, primarily unionized staff protected by the National Labor Relations Act, remained unvaccinated.
