PrizePicks has officially dropped its lawsuit against former Head of Social Media Judah Huffman, closing the book on a dispute that stretched on after he left the company for a similar role at DraftKings.
Good to know
PrizePicks had accused Huffman of taking confidential company documents with him when he left, including internal planning files and team goal documents. One unusual detail from the case involved Huffman reportedly using ChatGPT to review his non-compete agreement. PrizePicks argued that even uploading confidential info into an AI tool like ChatGPT crossed the line and posed legal risks.
The settlement required Huffman to delete all content tied to PrizePicks from his ChatGPT history and barred him from using or sharing specific internal documents. It also restricted him from destroying any company-related information in his possession. Though the lawsuit was dropped, the legal conversation about how AI interacts with corporate secrets is far from over.
Huffman did not admit to any wrongdoing, and the settlement included no admission of guilt from either side.
Meanwhile in June, PrizePicks signed a multi-year daily fantasy partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
