PrizePicks keeps adding new ground to its footprint, and its latest moves put Puerto Rico and Maine on the map. With gaming licenses now secured in both places, the Atlanta-based operator continues to build its presence in the fantasy sports space—reaching 47 U.S. jurisdictions in total.
Puerto Rico marks a big milestone as it becomes the first jurisdiction outside the mainland U.S. to officially license PrizePicks for daily fantasy contests.
Good to know
Adam Packer, the company’s senior VP of legal and compliance, credited the licensing authorities for helping get the deal over the line, saying:
“We’re grateful to the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and the Maine Gambling Control Unit for their partnership and support throughout the licensure process.”
PrizePicks has not just been working on regulatory milestones—it has also been boosting its brand through sports partnerships. In recent months, the company signed deals with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. Notably, both the Astros and Padres are based in states where sports betting is not yet legal.
While the growth is fast-paced, the company says it is also paying close attention to player safety. Earlier in the year, PrizePicks became the first fantasy sports operator to earn iCAP accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling. It views responsible gaming as a central part of its expansion strategy.
With nearly nationwide coverage and growing links to Major League Baseball teams, PrizePicks is positioning itself as more than just a fantasy platform—it wants to be a key player in shaping the future of regulated fantasy sports.
