Poker player Aaron ‘aejones’ Jones wins $5 Million and is crowned as world champion in DraftKings Fantasy Football

On Sundaynight, January 17th, 10 players battled it out in Los Angeles in the $15 Million Fantasy Football World Championship contest. Each contestant was guaranteed $100.000, but this pales in comparison to the $5 Million first price. At the start of the final round, Aaron Jones was in 5th place, but due to nice scores from Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona) and Matavis Bryant (Pittsburgh) Jones was able to scoop the win.

In the first 14 weeks of the NFL season players could qualify. The best 200 of them battled in Las Vegas for the semifinals, banking a minimum of $20.000 each. Out of these 200, the best 10 would advance to the finals last Sunday.

Supporting Jones in LA were fellow poker pro’s Dan ‘Danny98765’ Smith, Steven ‘Zugwat’ Silverman and Assani ‘jwvdcw’ Fischer. After winning the astronomical amount of money, Jones tweeted: ‘I recommend winning $5M if you guys have a chance. It was fun and I would do it again.’

Aaron Jones turned professional poker player when he was 17, and since then he’s seen grinding at the highest limits amidst players such as Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond. He started an online training site, Leggo Poker, and after selling it to noone less than Phil Ivey he focussed on grinding Daily Fantasy Sports. As you can tell, things are going pretty well for him.
