Maryland Poker reports revenue growth of 28 percent

The four casino poker rooms of Maryland have reported a combined $3.59 million in revenues for the month of November. The data revealed by state officials show that the rooms raked $40.6 million until November this year.

In November 2016, Maryland’s poker market was $2.67 million and had collected $31.5 million in the first 11 months.

On year-over-year last month, the revenue has increased 34.4 percent while the year-to-date revenue is up by 28.8 percent.

The 39-table poker room, opened in December 2016, at MGM National Harbor attracts millions of poker enthusiasts throughout the year. The poker room is largest room in the state based on revenue collection. In terms of size, Maryland Live! is the largest casino in the state which is equipped with 52 tables, in addition to 4337 gaming machines and 125 table games.

The state has had poker since it was first allowed in the live dealer table games in 2013. There are six casinos in total, only two of the six do not offer poker. Maryland has 122 poker tables while there are over 127 live poker tables to play at.
