Dan Smith has claimed the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $100,000 Super High Roller. A series of small WPT Five Diamond high roller events led to the WPT Five Diamond SHR at Bellagio in Las Vegas.

The Season XVI of the event hosted 39 poker players at the Bellagio Poker Room, boasting a total prize pool of $3.9 million. The final table featured Isaac Haxton, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Smith, Stefan Schillhabel and Sergio Aido, with Haxton leading the star-studded final with 1.81 million in his stack while Negreanu second with 1.472 million.

Aido was the first to fall, followed by Haxton and Schillhabel. Negreanu, who live reported the events of the final table through his Twitter handle, went all the way to the heads-up play, but only stopped by Dan Smith to win the top prize.

This is the third-biggest career cash prize for Smith, who now has over $19 million in earnings in total. The WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic Main Event, where he pocketed $1,161,135 in cash, is the biggest win for Smith. With more than $19 million in live tournament earnings, Smith has jumped from 17th place on the all-time money list to 14th.

Aido took home $312,000 for his fifth-place finish, his third largest live tournament score of his career. Isaac Haxton won $390,000 while Stefan Schillhabel got $624,000 in cash, for fourth and third-place finishes. Negreanu earned $936,000 million for the runner-up finish.
