A post released last week by an Ultimate Poker representative, announced that the regulated Nevada site will be using the “Winner Takes All” system of rake attribution as a VIP reward system. Regularly, the promotional system in online poker works by giving players loyalty points proportional to the amount of money the player has contributed in rake.
As today, the “weighted contributed” (WC) method is the most popular system used, where a rake amount based on the amount of money chipped in the pot is allocated to each player. Another popular method is the “dealt” system where the rake is equally divided among all players.
The “Winner Takes All” (WTA), is the less common system in which all the rake is allocated to whomever wins the hand. The UP spokesman explained “If you are a multitabler with an 8% VPIP, you’re not going to get rewarded as much simply because you won’t win very many pots.” He added that the plan is to “to reward the weak players who go to showdown often and keep them in action.”
