Santhosh Suvarna, a 43-year-old businessman from India, has won the 2024 World Series of Poker $250,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, taking home $5,415,152. This win marks his second WSOP bracelet. The tournament drew 75 entries, creating an $18,675,000 prize pool shared among the top 12 finishers.

Suvarna, who started playing poker seven years ago and began entering tournaments a few years back, now has career earnings exceeding $13.1 million. His latest victory is his largest payday to date.

The event saw many notable players, including bracelet winner Brian Kim, who was eliminated on the $506,757 money bubble. Others who finished in the money were Jonathan Jaffe (12th), Phil Ivey (11th), Adrian Mateos (10th), Jeremy Ausmus (7th), and Matthias Eibinger (4th).

The bracelet win comes just over seven months after Suvarna’s first, which he secured in the €50,000 buy-in high roller at the 2023 WSOP Europe, earning $689,000. Before that, Suvarna achieved his highest score of $1.7 million for a third-place finish in the 2023 Triton Monte Carlo main event, which was won by Matthias Eibinger.

“I’m really so happy,” Suvarna told reporters after his victory. “My dream has come true. This is a very big tournament. I played a million-dollar buy-in tournament, but this had bigger numbers. The main thing is that this is WSOP.”
