For a twelfth consecutive year, the poker tournament in support of the Fenton Education Foundation (FEF) was held on March 2 at the Fenton Hotel.

The Texas Hold’em Poker event gathered 75 participants, which was 11 players more than the previous year. FEF Vice Chair Pat Lockwood commented that many of the guests were regular attendees.

The tournament lasted for four hours, starting at 6:45 PM, and included a lavish buffet for participants and spectators.

The fundraiser will provide smaller teacher grants within the amount of $1,000. Applications are being filed with a specially designated committee that will review them and choose the winners.

Players were invited to buy in for $100 and compete for the good cause. Brad Smith triumphed at the end of the evening, winning approximately $1,000 and a poker bracelet. The champion will also get a section of LeRoy Street named after him.
