Jonathan Dimmig Wins WSOP Event #8 and $1,3 Million

We have found the first million dollar plus winner at this year’s World Series of Poker, which came in event #8, the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Millionaire Maker event. Jonathan Dimmig won the event after playing a long final table, beating Jeffrey Coburn heads up for the title and the massive $1,319,587 first prize.

A massive 7,977 players entered in the millionaire maker tournament, creating a huge prize pool of $10,768,950 to be split among the players finishing in the money.

When the final table started, Dimmig was not amongst the favourites to win the title, as Stephen Graner had a three to one chiplead over the table, a chiplead he did not manage to use to his advantage as he busted out in 6th place for $273,854.

The final hand of the event came after 190 hands played of the final table, where a flop showed:

And that was it, Dimmig was crowned the winner of the WSOP Event #8 Millionaire Maker and is the first player to win over a million dollars at this year’s WSOP.  You can see all final table payouts below.
