NYX Gaming bought the Ongame poker network last year from Amaya Gaming, who had purchased the Rational Group and their sites, Pokerstars and Full Tilt, and no longer wanted to operate the much smaller Ongame.com network as well as the three ring-fenced regulated networks Ongame.it, Ongame.es and Ongame.fr.
With NYX Gaming taking over the network it was expected that things would turn around, as they have so many partners with casino players that people expected the liquidity to go up and the games to become much fishier. This didn’t happen however and the traffic has declined ever since, leaving the Ongame network in ruins.
Now NYX Gaming is trying to boost their position in the regulated Italian market, by integrating the Instant Rewards feature for players. The feature was originally created by Amaya Gaming and provides players with the opportunity to win instant prizes by achieving different challenges set by Ongame or the operator.
Players can see their process towards the goal in the client, as there has been integrated a process bar that shows how far you’ve gotten towards receiving the cash or tournament buy-in prize. NYX Gaming believes that this will help maintaining the recreational players and give them a sense of accomplishment, despite never winning, which in turn will lead to more regulars also staying and provide a boost in the overall traffic.
