Dutch Boyd Wins WSOP Event #33 and his Third Bracelet

The World Series of Poker Event #33, $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em has come to an end and it was the American, Dutch Boyd, who came out on top. A total of 1,688 players registered and played the cheap WSOP tournament, creating a total prize pool of $1,519,200 to be split amongst the players finishing in the money.

The final day, day three, saw a total of 10 players returning and it didn’t take long to play down to the heads-up duel, which was between Dutch Boyd and Steven Norden. In total the final table took around seven hours time and only 154 hands was played before Boyd was crowned the winner.

The final hand was actually a river bluff by Norden that send the bracelet in Boyd’s direction. Boyd raised to 120,000 pre-flop at blinds level 30,000/60,000 with 10,000 in ante. Norden three-bet to 250,000 and Boyd quickly decides to make the call. Flop shows  and both players checks the flop.

Turn shows  and Norden now bets 300,000 which Boyd decides to call after some thinking. River shows  and Norden moves all-in relatively quickly. Boyd asks for a count, was told 735,000 and decided to make the call.

Norden was eliminated in second place and received $178,490 for his efforts, while Boyd could celebrate winning his third bracelet and $288,744. You can see the rest of the final table payouts below:
