David Peters finally seals the deal, wins $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em for $412,557

If we take a look at Peters’ World Series of Poker resumé, we see eight final tables before this event, with pretty much finishes in all spots but the one that’s worth the most. Until now. Peters bested a field of 1,860 players in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em to win his first golden bracelet, along with the $412,557 price money.

On the third day, 28 players returned, all hunting for the top spot. Among the noteable names were this year’s EPT Monte Carlo runner-up Adrien Allain, Faraz Jaka and Matt Affleck. The latter finished in third place for $184,456 (and is known for the bad beat he got from Jonathan Duhamel deep in the main event in 2010).

Peters started second in chips, trailing Kilian Kramer who had 5 big blinds more.

Jason Seitz was the first to be eliminated, his pocket 10’s were no good against Peters’ pocket queens. Peters took the chiplead, and extended it by busting Patterson in ninth.

Kilian Kramer was eliminated in painful fashion, his couldn’t win against Affleck’s on a board of . It was a bustout-galore, with Suzuki finishing in seventh ($56,044), Sheehan in sixth ($74,321) and Okin in fifth ($99,592).

After more than an hour, Peters jammed from the small blind with and was way ahead against the that Rahim chose to call with. No funny business on the board and Rahim was fourth for $134,845. Peters’ held against Affleck’s ten hands later, and the players were heads-up. After 21 hands of heads-up play, Peters’ conlcuded the tournament by holding with the against Shine’s on a board of , securing his first golden bracelet.
