Daniel Sepiol won his first WSOP bracelet in Event #23: $1,500 Shootout No Limit Hold’em, earning $305,849. Despite a significant chip disadvantage during heads-up play, Sepiol managed to turn the tables and claim victory.
Sepiol faced Robert Natividad in the final showdown. Natividad, a Filipino player based in California, secured $203,889 for his second-place finish, marking his career-best score. This brings Natividad’s total career earnings to over $1.2 million, according to HendonMob data.
The tournament attracted 1,534 players, creating a prize pool of $2,047,890. Reflecting on his win afterwards, Sepiol expressed his joyto reporters, saying, “It feels amazing, man. I’ve been chasing a bracelet for years now, it feels great.”
When asked about his mindset during the heads-up play with a massive chip disadvantage, Sepiol said, “It doesn’t feel good, especially when you just bluffed off your entire stack, but I played the stack in front of me and just tried to make the best decisions.”
Regarding his performance in the early stages of the event, Sepiol noted, “My first two tables were smooth, and I ran good. I had a big chip stack when we were short-handed and it was kind of cruise.”
