Aram Oganyan has just won his first World Poker Tour (WPT) title aboard the WPT Voyage after a competitive four-day event. He secured the top prize of $214,245, which includes an entry to the 2024 WPT World Championship in Las Vegas, and earned his spot on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.

Expressing his joy, Oganyan said, “I feel amazing. This is so fun. This is unbelievable. I won some flips at the end, got some bluffs through, and here we are. We got our name on the trophy. RIP Mike, the legend.” He also shared his positive experience playing poker on a cruise, suggesting, “I thought poker on a cruise would be an amazing thing, and it is so amazing… everyone should do it.”

The tournament attracted 293 entries, exceeding the $1 million guarantee and creating a total prize pool of $1,347,800. The winnings were distributed among the top 37 players, with the final three deciding on an ICM chop that adjusted the payouts, leaving the trophy and the title to be played for.

Adam Pliska, CEO of WPT, praised the event’s execution, saying, “The Championship event of WPT Voyage did not disappoint. What a sight it was to see such a group of players compete on board a world-class Virgin Voyages ship. In the end, we congratulated Aram for his achievement in joining the WPT Champions Club.”

The final table featured notable competitors, including Carlo Basurto finishing second with a $202,885 payout, and Austin Srur taking third place with $188,670. Other final table participants were Romulo Dorea in sixth place with a $55,000 payout, 2023 WPT World Championship winner Dan Sepiol in fifth place with $75,000, and Farid Jattin in fourth place with $100,000, highlighting the intense competition throughout the tournament.
