Nevada Successfully Tests Five Card Pai Gow and Gives its Blessing

Nevada’s gambling scene continues to evolve with fresh additions to casino floors and digital improvements for bettors. A new five-card version of Pai Gow poker has officially passed the test and earned its place on the casino floor at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Meanwhile, other unique features are gaining traction across the state, both at the tables and on mobile apps.

After a successful trial period at Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, the Nevada Gaming Commission approved the five-card Pai Gow variant for use in the state. The update keeps the core of the traditional game but simplifies play with a five-card hand, which helped players jump in easily.

Casino Manager Lucas Botsis credited the game’s familiar branding for drawing attention. The strong hold percentage—roughly 33%—also caught the eye of executives looking for games that perform well on the floor.

Harrah’s sees room for more

Harrah’s does not plan to stop there. Dustin Brown, Vice President of Gaming at Harrah’s, The Linq, and Flamingo, confirmed the game will remain on the floor and hinted that enhancements may be coming. One of those might include a progressive side bet to boost engagement and prize potential.

While five-card Pai Gow is now cleared for wider use, other games are still undergoing review or have been approved for limited testing. At Paris Las Vegas, the “Hard All Day” side bet has been added to craps tables as part of the broader push for innovation.

Digital upgrades for Caesars players

Away from the tables, Caesars Entertainment made a key move for mobile bettors. The company launched a universal wallet for its Caesars Sportsbook app in Nevada. With this update, players can manage their funds and Caesars Rewards credits in one place.

Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, described it as an upgrade that improves convenience and consistency. He said:

“The launch of our universal wallet in Nevada is a significant step forward and a long-anticipated enhancement that brings greater convenience and connectivity to our mobile app. With this update, sports bettors who visit Nevada and our world-class destinations… can enjoy a consistent experience wherever they go.”

The wallet syncs across 19 jurisdictions, giving players the ability to move seamlessly between states without managing multiple accounts.
