The Italian gambling industry is about to undergo significant changes as the Italian Chamber of Deputies approves the “Tax Delegation Law,” which aims to reform and reorganize the business. The problem faced by fragmented regional gaming regulations is one major factor addressed in the new legislation. Alesse promises stakeholders that the ADM will identify “sensitive areas” requiring severe controls to safeguard vulnerable individuals from the negative consequences of gaming in collaboration with local authorities.
The proposed law retains the current approach, which is based on state consent and police authority. The government and regional governments will work together to develop a comprehensive approach for regulating local gaming, which is critical for existing sector stakeholders.
The projected measures aim to strengthen Italy’s thriving gaming business, which is Europe’s second largest. Aside from strengthening the industry, the proposed reforms prioritize boosting player protections, particularly for persons dealing with gambling-related disorders.
