Illinois Casino Revenue Grows by 12 Percent in March

Illinois casinos pulled in $170.9 million in adjusted gross receipts (AGR) during March, according to new figures from the Illinois Gaming Board. The state’s casino industry showed strong growth, with a 12.2% jump compared to the same month in 2024.

Slot machines, or electronic gaming devices (EGDs), fueled most of the momentum. These machines alone generated $132.1 million of the total March AGR, showing a 14.1% increase compared to last year. Table games also had a solid month, producing $38.8 million in AGR, which marked a 6.2% rise year-over-year.

When looking at individual casino performances, Rivers Casino held the top spot with $43.7 million in AGR. However, Rivers Casino experienced an 8.5% decline compared to March 2024. Meanwhile, Hard Rock Casino Rockford posted the highest growth rate in the state. Its revenue almost doubled, climbing 99.2% to $13.1 million.

March numbers also beat out January’s casino revenue, which had totaled $149.3 million. That earlier month had also seen Illinois report a sports betting handle of $1.53 billion.
