British problem gambling charity GambleAware has released the full list of donations and pledges it received during the first two quarters of the financial year 2021-22.

During the first half of the financial year, the charity received a total of £10.6 million. The funds were gifted in the form of voluntary donations from gambling operators and do not include regulatory settlements and additional donations.

Currently, GambleAware requests parties that profit from gambling in Britain to donate a minimum of 0.1% of their Gross Gambling Yield (GGY) annually direct to GambleAware under guidance issued by the Gambling Commission. The £10.6 million received includes increased contribution levels from the leading operators who committed to raise the percentage of GGY they donate from 0.1% in increments to 1% by 2023. The leading operators’ pledged percentage contribution this year is 0.5% of GGY.

Some notable donations in the books this time come from popular sportsbookie Bet365 that donated a total of £4,214,000.00. Entain plc gifted a solid £2,000,000.00, while William Hill plc handed the charity £1,000,000.00 in funds.
