Share

Caesars has negotiated a historic agreement that permits an early start of operations in collaboration with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, ahead of the planned full-scale debut of legal sports betting in North Carolina on March 11.

Caesars has signed an agreement allowing sports betting at two Cherokee-operated locations, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel, even though the official start date is still a week away. This agreement also covers wagering on Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians tribal territory.

Expansion of Online Betting Offering

Caesars intends to cover all of North Carolina with its online sports betting operations once the complete market launch approaches. With this digital addition, the operator will provide customers a more complete gambling experience than its current retail sportsbooks in the state.

President of Caesars Digital Eric Hession expressed thanks for the relationship and highlighted how important it was to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to enable this early launch. He also expressed gratitude to commissions and regulatory agencies for helping to make the process easier.

Excitement was expressed by Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Principal Michell Hicks, who emphasized the successful and long-standing relationship with Caesars. Hicks was excited to see mobile sports betting arrive in North Carolina, stating that it will be a fun and novel experience for fans of sports.
