Bally Bet Prepares for Massachusetts Sports Betting Launch

Share

Bally Bet will formally open its online sports betting business in the state on July 2nd, according to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC). Bally Bet demonstrated its commitment to joining the Massachusetts market earlier this year by renewing its temporary license, despite having previously chosen not to expand nationwide in March 2023.

Regulatory Milestones and Operator Readiness

As the seventh operator in Massachusetts, Bally Bet will join a crowded field that includes titans of the business including BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, FanDuel, and Fanatics. The MGC has officially verified that Bally’s temporary occupational licenses have all been approved, opening the door for the company to launch sports betting.

During a recent meeting, Brett Calapp, Bally’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed appreciation for the regulatory process: “I think that the collaboration and communication from your guys’ group was at the highest and most professional level.”

With Massachusetts included, Bally Bet expands its reach to the eighth state in the US where its platform is available. The operator has already launched in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Ohio, and Virginia, with recent expansions including the opening of a retail sportsbook at Bally’s Evansville casino property in Indiana earlier this year.
