ACMA Continues Crackdown on Illegal Gambling and Blocks More Websites

Share

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is not giving up its fight against unlicensed and therefore illegally operating gambling providers in the country.

It has recently requested Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block additional illegal offshore gambling websites.

The latest sites being blacklisted include Zebet, Zeturf, Slot Vibe, Arlekin Casino, Johnnie Kash Kings, Lucky Star, Horus Casino, Tangiers Casino, 7 Reels, 21 Dukes, Winward Casino and Thebes Casino.

Following thorough investigation, the ACMA believes these operators to be in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The blocking of websites of these online operators is a valuable tool for the ACMA in protecting Australians against illegal online gambling. Since it made its first blocking request in November 2019, almost 400 illegal gambling websites have been blocked.
