Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, the state-owned gaming operator in Sweden, has recently changed the name of its horse racing games to Svenska Spel Hästar. This decision comes after a legal dispute with ATG regarding the original name of its trotting venture. The Patent and Market Appeal Court’s ruling on 25 January led to this renaming, posing a challenge for the operator, but it still looks forward to growth.
Fredrik Wastenson, CEO and business area manager of Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, expressed his disappointment with the court’s decision. He found it surprising that the court gave such importance to descriptive business names. However, he committed to ensuring a smooth transition for users.
“We are proud of our fantastic offer on horses, which will be available just like before, but now under Svenska Spel Hästar,” said Wastenson.
The rebranding to Svenska Spel Hästar is designed to continue offering uninterrupted service while adhering to the legal ruling. The company remains focused on providing a high-quality trotting experience, leveraging new technologies to engage customers and uphold its commitment to safe gambling practices.
Svenska Spel Hästar features a variety of betting options, including stakes in High Five, Duo, and bets in French competitions such as Winner and Place. The platform also enables live race tracking. One of the upcoming major events is the Prix d’Amérique on 28 January at Vincennes, a highlight in the French trotting calendar.
