laybook Fusion is now cleared to enter one of the world’s most competitive gambling markets. The studio has received a supplier licence from the UK Gambling Commission, giving it the green light to offer its core product, Playbook Football, to UK-licensed betting operators.
Good to know
The move marks a step forward for the studio, which launched in June 2024 and aims to reshape the intersection of gaming and betting.
Unlike traditional sports betting formats, Playbook Football turns wagering into an interactive, gamified experience. Players build football squads, place bets, play matches, earn rewards, and climb divisions over time—adding progression to the typical betting flow.
The game sits at the intersection of mobile/video gaming and real-money sports betting, bringing a fresh concept to an industry that hasn’t seen much change in core product design in recent years.
Operators in the UK that already use Games Global’s Remote Gaming Server (RGS) are first in line to offer Playbook Football. The integration ensures the product reaches players through established partners, allowing Playbook Fusion to scale faster without rebuilding infrastructure from scratch.
Playbook Fusion’s CEO, Steve Rogers, said the licence marks an important achievement. “Securing our licence from the UK Gambling Commission is a key moment for Playbook Fusion, granting us access to one of the most established online gambling markets in the world.”
Rogers also praised the speed of the approval process and the team’s role in meeting the UKGC’s regulatory standards. “Being able to satisfy the stringent criteria set out by the UKGC is a testament to the strength of the team which we have built at Playbook Fusion and, to achieve this milestone within such a short time period, is an accomplishment that we’re incredibly proud of.”
