The PGA Championship will now have an official sports betting sponsor for the first time, making it a historic occasion for the PGA of America and Penn Entertainment to close a ground-breaking multi-year contract. Under the terms of the new agreement, ESPN Bet will take over as the official sports betting partner of the PGA Championship through 2026.
It will take place in Louisville, Kentucky’s prestigious Valhalla Golf Club from May 16–19, 2024 PGA Championship.
Jeff Price, the Chief Commercial Officer of the PGA of America, expressed pride in the collaboration with Penn Entertainment, heralding the integration of ESPN Bet into the spectator experience throughout the PGA Championship. He said, “We are incredibly proud to partner with Penn Entertainment and immerse ESPN Bet into the spectator experience throughout the PGA Championship. The added onsite presence of ESPN Bet as well as broadcast and content offerings will provide spectators with exciting new ways to enjoy and engage with all of the action during the PGA Championship.”
The Championship will feature the ESPN Bet Members Lounge, strategically positioned adjacent to the green on the par-four 13th hole. Exclusively accessible to ESPN Bet account holders, the lounge promises panoramic views of Valhalla’s freshly revamped 13th green. Additionally, it boasts an array of amenities including refreshments, sheltered seating, a VR simulator of the 13th hole, exclusive ESPN Bet perks for attendees, and more.
Moreover, ESPN Bet will be seamlessly integrated into ESPN network broadcasts, furnishing viewers with betting odds and insights throughout the major tournament. The sponsorship encompasses collaborative content opportunities across PGA of America digital media platforms, with ESPN Bet slated to roll out specific PGA Championship betting offers in the lead-up to and during all four rounds of competition.
Jason Birney, the Vice President of Operations at Penn Interactive, expressed satisfaction at securing the PGA of America’s inaugural gaming partnership, underscoring the alignment of ESPN Bet with this esteemed men’s golf major. He said, “We’re pleased to be the PGA of America’s first ever gaming partner and align ESPN Bet with this prestigious men’s golf major.”
Birney further added, “We look forward to accessing highly engaging touchpoints to bring ESPN Bet onto the course and into the PGA Championship broadcast on ESPN. With the PGA Championship set to take place in states where ESPN Bet operates through 2026, this partnership provides us with a great opportunity to interact with and engage golf fans.”
