As Super Bowl LIX approaches, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued a call for responsible betting. The regulator emphasizes the importance of using authorized and legal sportsbooks when wagering on this year’s big game.
The MGCB has urged sports fans and bettors to bet responsibly during the Super Bowl. The board stressed, “We urge sports fans and bettors to practice responsible betting and wager only through authorized, legal sportsbook operators.”
Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director, also offered his perspective: “Each year, the Super Bowl unites millions of fans, football lovers, and bettors around the world. As we come together to watch the game, let’s remember the importance of responsible betting to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.”
Super Bowl LIX will see the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans at the Caesar Superdome. The game will kick off at 6:30 PM Eastern Time.
Meanwhile, H2 Gambling Capital, a key player in the sports betting industry, has released its wagering projections for the event. The company estimates that the total US handle from legal sportsbooks could soar to $1.6 billion.
“This will be the eleventh time that New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, becoming the joint-most popular host city for the Super Bowl along with Miami,” H2 Gambling noted. “H2 expects a record amount of wagers will be riding on the game, the highest wagering on a single game in the United States.”
Looking ahead, H2 Gambling anticipates continued growth. “H2’s 2025 estimate suggests that the strong growth will continue, implying a 17% increase in Super Bowl wagers this year. This is predominantly driven by growth in existing states,” the company added.
