  • Group revenue for Q1 rose 20% year-on-year to $144 million.
  • Adjusted EBITDA reached $20 million, nearly tripling from last year.
  • Net loss dropped to $8 million, about one-third of last year’s Q1 loss.

The Board of Directors approved a share buyback plan worth up to $100 million. This step followed the company’s push to increase shareholder value and reflects internal confidence in its long-term growth plan. The business outlook remains strong, with ongoing investments in data technology and expanded market offerings.

CEO and Co-Founder Mark Locke pointed to consistent momentum across multiple departments. “This quarter demonstrates the strong execution of our strategic objectives, as we continue our technology distribution, product innovation and commercial momentum,” he said.

Locke also highlighted the company’s current structure, which relies heavily on a fixed cost base and long-term growth levers. He added, “Our largely fixed cost base, coupled with several durable growth drivers, reinforces our confidence in delivering sustainable growth, profitability and cash flow in 2025 and beyond.”

Adjusted EBITDA showed major improvement, climbing to $20 million and reflecting a 53% incremental margin. While Genius still recorded a net loss of $8 million for the quarter, that figure was substantially lower than the previous year’s loss.

One of the more forward-looking developments involved the NCAA, which signed an agreement allowing Genius Sports to sell its official data to sportsbooks. This deal opens up possibilities for more advanced betting tools, including real-time micro-betting and AI-powered wagering on college games.
