Treasure DAO is giving NFTs a new purpose with its latest feature: the AI Agent Creator. If you hold a Bored Ape, Pudgy Penguin, or other popular NFTs, you can now give your digital collectible a personality and let it interact, play games, or even post online. Instead of just sitting in your wallet, your NFT can finally do something.
Good to know
The AI Agent Creator lives on the Treasure Marketplace. You start by selecting an approved NFT, pay the fee in ETH, and customize your agent’s personality. You can decide how it talks, behaves, and even plays. From there, it starts interacting with you through live chat and can join onchain games like Gigaverse.
These AI-powered agents need $MAGIC to function. Think of it like energy. You can top up the balance depending on how active you want the agent to be. Treasure recommends starting with around 10 $MAGIC, which costs less than $2.
At launch, the tool works with several big-name NFT collections, including Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Meebits, and Milady. More collections are expected to follow once Treasure fine-tunes the system.
Once set up, your NFT can do more than just chat. Current features include:
You are in control of how much activity your agent performs. If you are using a Bored Ape or other Ethereum-based NFT, you will need $MAGIC on Ethereum. For AI Smols, the token needs to be on Arbitrum.
Treasure DAO did not just come up with this idea for fun. In fact, the move into AI came out of necessity. In early April, the team revealed that the DAO was burning $8.3 million per year and could run out of stablecoins by the end of 2024.
With just $2.4 million left in reserves and another $2.3 million in $MAGIC, the team had to act fast. Treasure decided to stop supporting third-party games, paused its own chain, and cut its staff. Games like The Beacon and Calamity left the network.
Now, Treasure is fully focused on four core areas: its marketplace, Smolworld, Bridgeworld, and AI tools like this Agent Creator. By turning NFTs into active digital agents, the team hopes to keep $MAGIC useful — and its community active.
The idea is already in motion. On April 22, Treasure activated “AI Smols,” giving them the ability to play independently in Gigaverse. Players can still guide them daily, but a fully hands-free system is on the way.
All of this shows Treasure is no longer trying to build everything itself. Instead, the focus is now on keeping its ecosystem simple, useful, and interactive — starting with the NFTs already in people’s wallets.
