Genius Sports and the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) have forged a strategic alliance to enhance the integrity of sports betting worldwide. This collaboration merges Genius Sports’ advanced sports technology capabilities with IBIA’s extensive betting integrity monitoring expertise.
The agreement focuses on sharing information related to suspicious betting activities between the two entities. Both organizations will utilize their monitoring and intelligence platforms to exchange data within defined parameters. Additionally, the partnership includes access to technological resources and integrity reports, as well as potential collaboration on broader anti-match-fixing initiatives globally. Genius Sports will also join IBIA as an Associate member.
Simon Martyn, Director of Integrity and Rights Enforcement at Genius Sports, emphasized the importance of cooperation in tackling betting-related corruption. “Cooperation and the sharing of information are vital pillars to safeguarding the global sports industry from the threats of match-fixing and betting-related corruption. IBIA’s recent report highlighted 56 alerts in the first quarter of 2024, contributing to the successful sanctioning of 21 clubs, players, and officials in 2023, up from 15 in 2022.
