BroThrow Notes Similarity Between Their Logo and ESPN Bet’s

Share

Upon ESPN Bet’s recent logo reveal, a startup betting company named BroThrow observed remarkable similarities between the new logo and its own. ESPN Bet is a collaborative endeavor between ESPN and Penn Entertainment. This reveal was a precursor to the debut of this much-awaited betting platform, aiming to kindle excitement among fans.

BroThrow, known for its peer-to-peer social betting exchange, quickly highlighted the striking resemblance between their logo and that of ESPN Bet. In a post on platform X, BroThrow playfully remarked, “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” giving ESPN a shoutout.

To paint a clearer picture, BroThrow’s emblem showcases an aquamarine-colored ‘B’ set against a deep blue backdrop. The newly launched ESPN Bet logo interestingly also presents a similar-colored ‘B’ but with an encapsulated ‘E’—ESPN’s distinctive mark.

Chin Wang, VP of visual storytelling at ESPN Creative Studio, earlier mentioned that the chosen aquamarine shade for their logo symbolizes both fun and innovation.

BroThrow’s CEO, Brady Sharp, while conversing with Sports Handle, voiced his thoughts on the matter. He believes that ESPN’s designers might have come across BroThrow’s logo during various industry events the startup has been a part of. Brady doesn’t think the resemblance stems from ill intent. Notably, while BroThrow has trademarked its brand, the logo per se remains untrademarked.

Digging a bit deeper into BroThrow, this budding player in the U.S. betting scene stands out with its peer-to-peer social betting exchange. Think of it as the sports betting version of the Facebook Marketplace. The platform’s design empowers users to effortlessly set up and monitor bets. Garnering attention, BroThrow clinched the Rising Star award at the 2023 SBC Awards North America. Stationed in Arkansas, they also roll out monthly subscription offers to elevate user experience.

Turning the spotlight back to ESPN Bet, fans can look forward to its official launch this November. The platform is not only promising a unique betting experience but also bringing aboard famous names like Scott Van Pelt and Pat McAfee, underscoring its intention to stand out.
