In a commendable move, BetR, a prominent micro-betting fantasy and sportsbook app, has announced its agreement to facilitate the seamless transfer of account balances for customers affected by the sudden closure of No House Advantage (NHA), a fantasy and online betting platform. This customer-centric action aims to mitigate the challenges faced by NHA users after the platform ceased operations earlier this year.
Joey Levy, the CEO and co-founder of BetR, expressed the company’s dedication to its community and its rapid ascent as a leading player in the fantasy sports arena. Levy stated, “As BetR Picks has quickly established itself as a leading fantasy sports operator in record time, we are constantly evaluating ways to continue growing quickly while also doing right by the community.”
NHA, which was acquired by Korean private equity firm Corstone Capital in 2022, left its users in disarray when it unexpectedly shut down in August. This abrupt decision caught customers off guard and resulted in temporary loss of access to funds held in their NHA accounts, leading to a surge in withdrawal requests.
The closure was attributed to a suspected attempt to defraud NHA. The company, in an official statement on its website, revealed, “No House Advantage has ceased operations effective immediately. Approximately a month ago, NHA was made aware of what may have been a coordinated attempt to defraud the company via a payment chargeback scheme which has impacted our ability to process withdrawal.”
Before its closure, NHA faced regulatory troubles, including an $8,000 fine imposed by the Pennsylvania Control Board. The fine stemmed from NHA’s failure to promptly notify the PGCB of a change in its ownership structure, further complicating the platform’s operational challenges.
BetR’s proactive initiative to assist NHA customers by facilitating the transfer of their account balances underscores the importance of prioritizing customer welfare in the ever-evolving landscape of fantasy sports and online betting. This compassionate gesture serves as a testament to the commitment of companies like BetR to ensure the seamless and secure continuation of the gaming experience for users affected by unforeseen circumstances.
