After two highly successful seasons, TDT-Unibet ProTeam will now continue as the Unibet Tietema Rockets. Unibet, the team’s new title sponsor, has signed a multi-year agreement, making the team the first professional cycling squad with a franchise name. This partnership represents a significant step toward the team’s long-term goal of participating in the Tour de France.
TDT-Unibet has quickly established itself in the world of professional cycling. In 2023, the team secured a UCI Continental license, and by 2024, they advanced to a UCI ProTeam license. With their eye-catching performances, both on and off the bike, the team made an impression during its debut at the WorldTour event, the Amstel Gold Race.
In 2025, the team will officially introduce its “Rockets” identity as part of an ambitious international expansion. “Our goal is to be the best followable team for cycling fans around the world,” said team owner Bas Tietema. “With the new Rockets identity, we take a big step forward in creating a sustainable organization and hopefully accelerate our growth as a team.”
With Unibet stepping in as the team’s title sponsor, the Unibet Tietema Rockets are aiming high. They have applied for a French UCI ProTeam license for 2025, marking another step toward achieving their Tour de France dream.
Neil Banbury, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer at Kindred Group, expressed his excitement about the collaboration. “The team has a huge potential and has already proven they are capable of developing very quickly. We’re incredibly proud of the team’s progress and look forward to seeing the Rockets grow to the next level,” he said.
Tietema echoed this optimism, adding, “Every cycling team starts with the dream of reaching the Tour de France, and we’ve already exceeded many expectations. Now, we’re taking a big step closer to that goal.”
