According to information produced by Deloitte, Ontario’s betting market has established itself as a lucrative business in its first year of operation, bringing in a remarkable C$1.5 billion (US$1.2 billion) to the province’s economy. A study issued by iGaming Ontario during the Canadian Gaming Summit made this information public. The study also emphasizes how the gambling sector has helped to create jobs, with 12,000 new positions filled and C$900 million in wages paid.

The research also highlights the fact that many of the high-paying positions established inside the Ontario gambling business have average annual wages of C$103,000. Compared to the typical provincial pay, this is a huge gain of almost C$30,000.

Rapid Growth and Revenue Generation in Ontario’s Legal Gambling Market

The fourth quarter market performance report for the period between January 1 and March 31 was just released by iGaming Ontario (iGO). The figures showed a significant rise in betting activity, with C$10.2 billion wagered—a 20.8% increase over the C$8.5 billion wagered in the prior quarter.
