The American Gaming Association (AGA) will once again use September to promote safer gambling through Responsible Gaming Education Month, an initiative supported by operators across the U.S. including DraftKings.
Good to know
As part of the campaign, DraftKings will tie its promotions to Monday Night Football, offering sweepstakes that reward players who use either My Budget Builder or My Stat Sheet. Each week throughout September, participants will have new chances to win prizes while engaging with responsible play tools.
My Budget Builder encourages customers to set up personalized spending limits and guardrails, complementing My Stat Sheet, which provides a clear summary of an individual’s gambling activity. The two features are designed to make users more aware of their habits while giving them control over how much time and money they spend.
Lori Kalani, Chief Responsible Gaming Officer at DraftKings, said:
“As a leading operator, we are committed to providing customers with tools that support responsible play and enhance their experience. This campaign recognizes and celebrates customers who use these resources, helping to foster a more informed and responsible gaming culture.”
DraftKings emphasized its commitment to responsible gaming in its statement. The operator has also had to address past compliance issues, including regulatory findings around the use of credit cards for deposits. By tying new sweepstakes to tools like My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet, DraftKings aims to encourage more customers to interact with responsible play features while reinforcing the broader industry message promoted by the AGA.
DraftKings has also ended credit card deposits on its U.S. sportsbook and online casino platforms on August 25, following a $450,000 fine in Massachusetts.
