ENN Entertainment is strengthening its position in the sports betting space by partnering with MLB Players Inc. (MLBPI) and OneTeam Partners. Through the new agreement, PENN’s sportsbooks—ESPN BET in the US and theScore BET in Canada—are now officially licensed by MLBPI.
This deal gives PENN the ability to use MLB player names, photos, and likenesses across its digital betting platforms and retail sportsbooks. That means fans will now see their favorite players featured in ESPN BET’s marketing and promotions, adding a fresh layer of interaction during the baseball season.
PENN currently operates 32 retail sportsbooks, 19 of which carry the ESPN BET name. By integrating player-related content into both its online and in-person offerings, PENN aims to bring fans closer to the sport.
Frank Arthofer, President of OneTeam Partners, highlighted the potential of this collaboration. “By integrating MLB player rights into PENN Entertainment’s platforms, this partnership brings fans closer to the game while unlocking new business opportunities in sports betting,” he said. “It highlights the growing influence of players in shaping premium, fan-focused betting experiences while enhancing player NIL rights and widening distribution.”
Jason Birney, Vice President of Operations at PENN Interactive, echoed the enthusiasm, especially with the baseball season underway. “As baseball season gets underway, we’re excited to offer fans an enhanced betting experience that includes player likenesses, expanded wagering options, and a more dynamic product. Partnering with MLB Players strengthens our connection to the league and its star players and creates additional opportunities to engage fans throughout the season.”
