Fantasy sports fans have a new way to play, and it’s rolling out just in time for football season. FanDuel has launched FanDuel Picks, a peer-to-peer fantasy sports product now live in 17 states.
Good to know
Instead of the usual season-long grind, FanDuel Picks gives players a faster and more social format. Users can pick between three and six athletes, decide “more” or “less” on projected stat lines, and place a wager. Each correct prediction racks up points, and the highest scorers walk away with a share of the prize pool.
Rob Cullen, GM of FanDuel Picks, said:
“Just in time for NFL season, we are excited to bring fans a social way to engage with the sports and athletes they love with the launch of FanDuel Picks. The ‘more’ or ‘less’ selection model offers a streamlined fantasy sports experience, and we look forward to offering our customers another way to interact with games this season.”
FanDuel didn’t stop with its fantasy announcement. On August 28, FanDuel Sports Network, owned and operated by Main Street Sports Group, struck an agreement with VSiN, The Sports Betting Network, to extend betting coverage nationwide.
The collaboration will see VSiN By the Books broadcast Monday through Friday via the FanDuel Sports Network app and across nine regional channels. The content will focus on odds, betting strategy, and insights tied directly to local teams and games.
Steve Cohen, EVP of Talent and Programming at VSiN, commented:
“We’re thrilled to bring VSiN’s unique sports betting content to the passionate fans that watch their favorite local teams play on FanDuel Sports Network. This latest expansion of our distribution footprint helps cement VSiN’s position as the leading creator of sports betting content anywhere.”
Norby Williamson, President of Programming and Production at Main Street Sports Group, added:
“At FanDuel Sports Network, everything starts with the local sports fan. Partnering with VSiN allows us to deliver smart, entertaining betting insights tied to the teams and games our audiences care about most.”
