FanDuel, the official betting partner of the NFL, is set to launch the Kick of Destiny 2 campaign, featuring four-time Super Bowl Champion Rob Gronkowski. This initiative follows the success of last year’s campaign and marks another collaboration between FanDuel and Gronkowski.
FanDuel is now introducing an interactive element to the campaign. Using the FanDuel Sportsbook app, customers can participate by predicting whether Gronkowski will successfully make or miss a field goal. Those who guess correctly will share a $10,000,000 bonus bet prize pool. This new and fresh approach aims to increase fan engagement and excitement around the event.
The campaign’s highlight is Gronkowski’s attempt to make a field goal in Las Vegas just before the Super Bowl. Gronkowski expressed his determination, stating, “I’m going to show America I can make that kick, even with all the pressure of doing it live in front of the entire country. No wind is going to stop me, and we’re going through the uprights this year for everyone who picks that I’m going to make the kick.”
Further enhancing the campaign’s appeal, FanDuel’s new ad features a narrative of redemption for Gronkowski. He is portrayed walking through a desert, coached by Carl Weathers, reflecting on his previous miss and preparing for his comeback. John Cena, playing the antagonist, adds drama by rooting against Gronkowski. Cena shared his excitement about his role in the campaign, saying, “I remember watching Gronk’s kick last year and am so excited to be working with a brand like FanDuel to make this sports moment more exciting for their fans, but do I think he’s going to make it? No chance!”
Andrew Sneyd, FanDuel’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, praised Gronkowski’s fit for the campaign, citing his entertaining and passionate character. Sneyd also reflected on the previous campaign’s success and expressed anticipation for engaging NFL fans once more this year.
