DigiPlus has decided to temporarily halt operations in Brazil, only weeks after completing a soft launch of its new local platform. The company now plans to officially relaunch in early 2026, positioning the move as a strategic reset to better align its products with Brazilian audiences.
Good to Know
The operator said the short soft-launch period served as an information-gathering phase, helping the company analyze player behavior and market preferences. The learnings from that initial rollout will now guide its full-scale launch in Q1 2026.
“We are taking the strategic step to pause GamePlus in Brazil so we can come back stronger with a digital entertainment offering that is not only locally relevant but also resonates deeply with the Brazilian culture and entertainment habits,” said DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio H. Tanco.
Effective October 10, DigiPlus teams in Brazil and the Philippines have begun refining their hyper-localization approach — focusing on cultural insights, language adaptation, and regional gaming trends. The company described the pause as a proactive step rather than a setback, emphasizing the goal of building a platform tailored for long-term engagement in Latin America’s fastest-growing gaming market.
The decision also coincides with DigiPlus’s wider international push. Just last month, the company filed for a gambling license in South Africa, extending its reach into another high-potential market.
Meanwhile, in the Philippines, DigiPlus is rumored to extend its operations to live casinos as it might be one of the parties interested in taking over the City of Dreams casino complex in Pasay, Manila.
Industry watchers see the pause in Brazil as a calculated move that allows DigiPlus to refine its user experience before entering what could become one of the most competitive iGaming landscapes in the world.
“Sometimes you need to step back before you take a leap forward,” one company insider said privately. “That’s exactly what this pause represents for DigiPlus.”
