Corinthians Weighs Betano Sponsorship and Arena Deal Worth BR270 Million

The board of Corinthians is reviewing a major sponsorship proposal from Betano, the same betting operator currently backing Flamengo. The offer could redefine the club’s commercial partnerships, combining shirt sponsorship with naming rights for its home stadium.

Good to Know

  • The proposal from Betano could reach around BR200 million per year.
  • Esportes da Sorte, the current main sponsor, has the right to match Betano’s offer.
  • Corinthians is also negotiating new terms for its stadium naming rights, currently held by Hypera Pharma.

For years, Corinthians has been one of Brazil’s most marketable football brands, and the team is once again in the spotlight for potential record sponsorship deals. Betano, a name already familiar to Brazilian fans through its deal with Flamengo, has now made an aggressive play to secure Corinthians as its new headline partner.

Under the current arrangement, Esportes da Sorte pays BR103 million annually to sponsor the club. However, president Osmar Stabile and his management team are aiming higher — they want a combined commercial package of BR270 million per season that would include both shirt and naming rights deals. Betano’s proposal reportedly values its portion at roughly BR200 million per year, creating a potential reshuffle in the club’s financial setup.

According to local reports, Corinthians has officially informed Esportes da Sorte about the new offer, giving the company an opportunity to match or exceed the terms. The final decision, however, remains pending as the board evaluates which deal provides the best long-term value for the club and its supporters.

The stadium rights are also part of the conversation. Hypera Pharma, which owns the Neo Química Arena naming rights, pays BR15 million annually under a 20-year contract signed in 2020. But the club’s executives are now targeting BR70 million per season, seeking a new valuation that reflects the arena’s branding potential. Hypera’s attempt to raise its offer slightly was reportedly turned down by the club, signaling an interest in exploring more lucrative options — possibly from Betano as part of a broader package.

If Betano and Corinthians agree on terms, the contract could become one of the largest sponsorship deals ever signed in Brazilian football. It would also reinforce the growing presence of sports betting operators in South American football, following recent partnerships between major clubs and global betting brands.

For Betano, expanding its footprint in Brazil’s top-tier football represents a strategic play. Its partnership with Flamengo earlier this year elevated brand recognition nationwide, and adding Corinthians to the portfolio would create an unmatched dual presence in the country’s two biggest fan bases.
