Circa Sports is preparing to open what will become the largest retail sportsbook in Kentucky, setting up shop inside The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin. With a focus on high-end viewing and expanded in-person betting, the venue is expected to attract visitors from both Kentucky and neighboring Tennessee.

Good to know

  • Circa Sportsbook at The Mint Gaming Hall will cover over 5,100 square feet.
  • The space will include a massive 80-foot-wide LED screen and 31-foot odds board.
  • Bettors from nearby Nashville and southern Kentucky are expected to be key visitors.

The new Circa Sports facility is scheduled to open this summer, adding another chapter to the operator’s growing U.S. footprint. The sportsbook will be located at The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin, offering a full suite of in-person wagering options for customers aged 21 and older.

Circa Sports already operates in Nevada, Illinois, Iowa, and Colorado. Its upcoming Kentucky launch marks a strategic step to serve two key markets at once, thanks to the location’s proximity to Tennessee.

High-end design and viewing experience

The venue has been designed with comfort and visibility in mind. It will feature 113 stadium-style seats, luxury recliners, and tiered booth-style seating to suit a range of preferences. Bettors will find five staffed betting counters, including an ADA-accessible option, plus four self-service kiosks inside the sportsbook and three additional kiosks in other parts of The Mint Gaming Hall.

An 80-foot-wide LED screen and a 31-foot-wide odds board will anchor the viewing experience, making it a destination for sports fans looking to follow games and place bets in real time.

Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said the partnership with The Mint was key to creating a top-tier venue. “Together with The Mint, we’re creating a high-tech betting destination that will bring a new level of live-viewing excitement for customers across both states. The Mint has been an exceptional partner in turning this vision into reality, and we look forward to welcoming guests later this year,” Stevens said.

Johan Mirkovic, Vice President and General Manager of The Mint Gaming Hall, highlighted the regional appeal. “This region, spanning the Kentucky-Tennessee border, is a true sports enthusiast’s haven,” Mirkovic said. “The upcoming Circa Sportsbook will elevate the experience, offering the area’s premier viewing venue for all your favorite sporting events—no matter where you are.”

Beyond the betting counters and big screens, the Circa Sportsbook will also feature a VSiN (Vegas Stats & Information Network) broadcast studio. The studio will produce daily sports betting content, including live analysis and coverage tailored to sports wagering audiences.
